He knows which stretches fish well after spring runoff, where steelhead stack up after a blow off the big lake, and when the smelt runs pull everything else into the shallows. Every trip is built around what's actually happening on the water that day — not a script.

There's no single dock or boat launch for every trip. Where you meet depends on what you're after, how much time you have, and your experience level — a river trip for steelhead starts somewhere different than an ice fishing day on an inland lake. Once you book, Nikolas confirms species, timeframe, and the meeting point with you directly before the trip.

What's Included

GEAR, BAIT & INSTRUCTION

Every trip includes all the fishing gear you need, bait, and as much on-water instruction as you want. Nikolas will help you cast, read the water, and land fish whether it's your first time holding a rod or your hundredth trip out.

MEALS & TRIP LENGTH

Half-day trips ($300) run a few hours and don't include a meal. Full-day trips ($450) and ice fishing outings ($375) run longer and include lunch, so you're fueled up for the whole day on the water.

The one thing you need to bring yourself is waders. If you don't have a pair, let Nikolas know when you book so the trip can be planned around it.

Trips are built around the species you're after and the season — ask about timing when you book and Nikolas will point you toward what's biting.

What You Might Catch

Steelhead, salmon (including coho, which run the rivers and gather around the piers seasonally), brook trout, brown trout, splake, and lake trout in the inland streams and lakes. Northern pike, muskie, walleye, whitefish, perch, and burbot in the bigger water. What's biting depends on the season, the spot, and the day — Nikolas builds the plan around it.
